- Visit
Paia Plantation for a delightful continental breakfast before we embark on our
wonderful journey!
- Begin
"On Top of the World" at the majestic Pu'ula Ula (Red Hill). The pinnacle of
Haleakala at 10.023 feet.
- The
"House of the Sun" visitors center will offer breathtaking
panoramic view.
- Continue
down the mountain through cattle & dairy ranches to the paniolo
cowboys of Makawao. In this unique town, you will see hitching posts
from back when horses were more common than cars! Today this is home to quite
the collection of eclectic group of little shops &
boutiques.
- After
our upcountry lunch, we will head east through Haiku
where the grass is always a beautiful emerald green! This is where the
kama’ainas live on land with bountiful groves of avocado, citrus banana,
papaya, mango & exotic tropical flowers.
- Experience
a spectacular tropical rainforest & stop to swim
in a crystal clear waterfall!
- Keanae
Peninsula,
a little tongue of lava jutting right out into the ocean! The
huge ocean waves crashing into the jagged lava Keanae shore create a
spectacular photo opportunity!
The
afternoon return journey takes us to Hookipa Beach Park, the windsurfing capital
of the World! Photo opportunities abound as these windsurfers really put on an
aquatic show!
